A Magical Spring Moment Begins 🐣
Spring has arrived 🌸, and with it comes one of the most magical moments we can share with children at nursery – the hatching of our Easter chicks! 🐣
Over the past few days, the children have been eagerly watching and waiting 👀 as our eggs rested safely in the incubator. There has been lots of excitement and curiosity as they observed the process.
At last, the special moment arrived ✨. Tiny cracks began to appear on the eggs 🥚, and before long, our chicks started to emerge. The room filled with wonder as the children quietly gathered around, watching them take their very first steps into the world.
Learning, Caring & Naming Our New Friends
This experience has been a wonderful opportunity for learning 📚. The children have been exploring the life cycle of a chick, learning about how animals grow and change, and developing their understanding of care and responsibility 🤲. We’ve talked about being gentle, using quiet voices 🤫, and making sure the chicks were comfortable.
The children then came up with some names, which were then picked at random. We were all so delighted to welcome Annie, Chickpea, Chicky, NeyNey, Cookie, Minnie & Butterfly to The Grove Daycare Nursery.
As part of this special experience, we adopted the chicks and have now donated them to Second Chance Animal Rescue in Swanley, where they will have the opportunity to enjoy a happy, fulfilled, and long life 🐥💛. The charity works to rescue, rehabilitate and care for animals in need, giving them a safe and loving environment .
While we will truly miss Annie, Chickpea, Chicky, NeyNey, Cookie, Minnie & Butterfly at the nursery, we are so pleased they are going to such a caring home.
