🚒 A Special Visit from Kent Fire and Rescue Service! 🔥
We had a very exciting visit from Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and the children were absolutely thrilled to see a real fire engine arrive at nursery!
There was so much excitement as the children got the chance to get up close to the fire engine, explore the different equipment and discover some of the special tools firefighters use to help people in emergencies.
🚒 Exploring the Fire Engine
One of the highlights was getting to sit inside the fire engine! The children were fascinated by everything they could see and were eager to explore the different features of the truck.
The firefighters also showed the children some of their equipment and talked to them about what each item is used for.
It was a fantastic hands-on experience, allowing the children to see and learn about things they may normally only encounter through books, conversations or imaginative play.
👂 Listening, Learning & Taking Turns
As exciting as the visit was, we were especially proud of how well the children listened to the firefighters.
They listened carefully to the talk, followed instructions and showed fantastic patience while waiting for their turn to explore the fire engine and equipment.
The children were able to share this exciting experience together within their peer groups and alongside our Early Years Educators. They enjoyed talking about what they could see, sharing their excitement and learning from one another as they explored.
This made the visit a wonderful opportunity not only for learning about fire safety, but also for developing important skills such as communication, listening, patience, sharing, turn-taking and cooperation.
💙 A Big Thank You!
We would like to say a huge thank you to Kent Fire and Rescue Service for taking the time to visit us and give our children such a memorable experience.
The excitement on their faces said it all! It was a fantastic opportunity for our children to learn through a real-life experience, build confidence and share something special with their friends and educators.
We loved seeing their curiosity, enthusiasm and excitement, and we are sure this is an experience they will be talking about for a long time!
Who knows, we may have a few budding firefighters among us! 👨🚒👩🚒🔥
