Curriculum

“Like branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain together as one.”

Early years is a crucial time in children’s lives. Between the ages of 0 months to 5 years old, children are constantly absorbing their changing environments, which in turn enables them to develop their identities and become independent and curious learners. Our nursery organisation reflects this; we coordinate our space, care and curriculum accordingly.

At The Grove Daycare Nursery, we favour a creative approach with a focus on our core values when it comes to embedding the EYFS framework. Children develop communication, literacy, numeracy and fine motor skills in a fun, rewarding and effective way.

Every child learns in their own way and at their own pace, and we aim to drive their learning in accordance with their unique needs and interests. By offering each child reassurance, choices, and a stimulating space, we are able to teach them independence, inspiring them to learn, be adaptable to new surroundings, and develop and practice self-regulation.

Our Curriculum

Our inclusive curriculum is based on the framework and guidance set by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) from birth to five, incorporating principles and attributes from the curiosity approach. The curiosity approach is a modern pedagogical approach which embodies an unstructured and child-led methodology to learning. At The Grove Daycare Nursery, the children are put in the centre of their own learning and development, shaping the way they learn and play whilst piquing children’s natural curiosity and confidence.

Learning about how to preserve our planet

As part of our curriculum, we prioritise and strive to educate children on the importance of sustainability to improve the environmental health and quality of life. Children are taught about sustainability through interactive play; how to recycle, reuse, and reduce waste production. We teach children about sustainability through an interactive play. We are committed to going green and recycling and reusing materials because we strongly believe in sustainable development, and we care about the environment.

Our Space

All of our rooms have been designed in a natural and sustainable way. Every space has been created to feel inviting and safe so children are empowered to learn, play and grow organically.

Each room features natural stimuli and engaging resources that will encourage children to explore, interact and enjoy creative play, all of which will support their physical and social development.

Your Child’s Development

At The Grove Daycare Nursery, we understand that your child’s development is an exciting process. As your child grows and learns about the world at nursery, you can be part of their journey by using our online platform which allows you to easily view each stage of your child’s progress on your mobile phone/tablet.

We update the app frequently by uploading photos, videos, and daily diary entries so you won’t miss out on any valuable moments.

Key Person

We believe that the best way to build strong learning foundations is by working closely together. In order to achieve this effectively, each child is allocated a key person. A key person is a named member of staff who has an important role in recognising each child’s specific needs and ensuring their wellbeing is promoted.

Here at The Grove, we work by understanding the way in which each individual child learns and develops in a holistic manner. By forming meaningful relationships between parents and the wider community, a child’s competence and confidence will expand over time, thus enabling them to have the skill set, knowledge and awareness to direct their own lives.
