Nutrition
Food feeds the mind,
body and soul.
What we eat not only has an impact on our health, but it also plays a role in our emotions and helps keep our body in balance.
That’s why at The Grove Daycare Nursery, we want to offer children the maximum dose of goodness in all our meals. Everything from breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks, is freshly prepared and homemade, ensuring the children are kept fuelled and hydrated throughout the day.
Our Menus
We know the importance of establishing healthy food habits from a young age. So, we encourage all the children to discover new tastes, textures and flavours from around the world with our varied menus.
Great food starts with great ingredients, and all the ingredients we use are locally sourced to ensure every meal is fresh, balanced, seasonal and full of flavour.
Our Dining Ethos
We operate a family dining approach here at The Grove Daycare Nursery with staff and children eating together. This creates a wonderful opportunity for children to eat and try new foods and flavours together in a safe space.
As children progress up to the willow room (preschool age) – with adult supervision, support and guidance – they will begin to help out the catering team with setting the tables, serving their own food, and clearing up after themselves.
We strive to promote good eating habits for the future by educating children about the different types of food, how they are grown and the nutritional value it has to help us grow.
Food Safety & Allergies
The safety and welfare of every child is of the utmost importance here at The Grove Daycare Nursery, therefore we make sure every staff member is aware of any allergies and intolerances. We cater to all types of special diets and our seasonal NHS accredited meals are prepared in our nut-free kitchen.
We share our menus with parents each week so you will always know exactly what your child is eating.
